My friend and neighbor, Lisa Waller, has recently embarked on an exciting journey, a journey to motherhood. When I first learned of Lisa's decision to adopt I thought my heart would explode. I knew she would make a wonderful mother and I was thrilled to support her any way I could. I was honored that she asked me to photograph her for her adoption profile book. This very important book is what expectant parents first see when looking for an adoptive parent. Therefore, pictures that were genuine and tell a story without the need for words was our goal and we had a blast trying. We lucked out with a beautiful and warm November afternoon. It was a race against the sun and we definitely won. We climbed stone walls, wandered overgrown fields, admired old barns, and managed to squeeze in a river and the ocean! The great outdoors is Lisa's happy place and we didn't want to leave anything out. This shoot was certainly special and will always be one of my favorites.
